Great and scenic campground just off of I-5 (though quiet) by Mt Shasta. Typical state park campground with good basic amenities and well maintained. The park itself covers 4350 acres with many hiking trails (30 miles), including the PCT. Hiking to the Castle Crags was beautiful! There is a year round creek and Sacramento River is close by with a cool suspension bridge!

The weather was a bit cooler in May (6,000 ft ) but less crowded. The campsite seems to typically be full.
